Ada E. Schwent

Ada E. Schwent, passed away December 18, 2021, Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan at the age of 96 years.

Ada was born April 2, 1925, in Steelville, Missouri a daughter to the late Thomas and Mattie ((Halbert) Luck.

Ada was a 1943 graduate of Steelville High School. On February 19, 1946, she was united inmarriage to John H. Schwent at the Holy Cross Church of Cuba, after he returned from his military service in Germany.

After her retirement, Ada enjoyed working in her garden and canning the food she grew. She also enjoyed sewing, doing word searches, and watching the St. Louis Cardinals play baseball.

Survivors include her only son, Paul Schwent (Liz Wynn), grandchildren Justin and wife, Crystal Wynn, and Janae and husband, Mike Edington. Ada is also survived by seven great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren, together with extended family and friends.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters, three brothers, and her husband, John.

A graveside service will be held at a later date.

The family suggests memorials to Holy Cross School of Cuba or St. Jude’s.
