Betty Gail Minzey

  Betty Gail Minzey, age 83 of Rolla, passed away July 5, 2018 at Rolla Health and Rehabilitation in Rolla, MO. Betty was born on May 25, 1935 in Lowry City, MO., a daughter to the late Irvin and Iris (Garnett) Wright.  Betty attended school in Lowry City, graduating from West Port High school in Kansas City, MO. On May 3, 1965 she was united in marriage to Frank Minzey who preceded her in death on August 26, 2015. She was a member of Retired Employees of Defense Mapping Agency, and American Business Women. Betty enjoyed sewing, reading, jigsaw puzzles and long walks on the beach.   Betty's artistic abilities and attention to detail led her to a successful career with Defense Mapping Agency and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Kansas City. She and Frank retired to Port Orange, FL., in 1991, where they enjoyed spending many hours on the "world's most famous beach." Betty returned to Missouri following Franks death in 2015, where she quickly fell in love with her first great grandchild.   Survivors include; one son, Brian Burns and wife Jody of Lenexa, KS., one daughter, Julie Snook and husband Tim of Cook Station, MO., three grandchildren; Sabrie Burns, Ryan Burns and wife Tina, James Snook, and one great granddaughter, Paisley Burns. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her first husband Leo Burns, one sister, Barbara and one brother Paul.
