Betty L Sanders

Betty L. Sanders passed away quietly on Sunday, August 25 in her home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 81. 

Betty was born in Rolla, Missouri and attended school there. 

She married her partner in life, Robert (Bob) Sanders in 1984. 

They both retired from the library at Missouri S&T after working there for many years. 

She had a keen eye for design and could transform found objects from her many shopping adventures into treasures to adorn her home with. 

Friends and loved ones were frequently given these objects as Betty loved to redecorate often. She loved animals and they loved her. 

She is survived by her husband Robert Sanders of St. James, Mo; Beloved daughter Lisa Hayes Phillips and husband Terry of Springfield, Mo; Granddaughter's Taryn Phillips Richardson and Presley Phillips Noel (Josh), of Jonesboro, AR; Great grandchildren Jensen Beard, Channing Beard, and Rhodes Richardson. Sisters Marcia Elrod, Mary Elrod, and Martha Thorpe (Jade) of Sherman, TX. Step-children Kevin Sanders of Truxton, Mo, Kim Rusk (Larry) of Jefferson City, Mo, Michele Young (Jon) of Valley Park, Mo, and Brian Sanders (Kim) of O'Fallon, Mo; Step-great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. 

She was preceded in death by her mother Margaret Elrod (nee James) and father Vaugn English.

No services are planned at this time.
