Bobby “Buck” Light, age 86, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.

Buck was born on July 3, 1938, in Rolla, Missouri, to Gene and Lena (Stogsdill) Light. He grew up in Rolla, where he attended Rolla Schools and graduated with the Class of 1956. He remained deeply rooted in his hometown, where he later raised his own family.

On September 30, 1962, Buck married the love of his life, Carrol Stockton, in Springfield, Missouri. Together they shared a beautiful life of over six decades. Carrol survives him.

Buck spent the majority of his career in retail management, where he was known for his dedication and warm, engaging personality. Outside of work, he was an avid runner throughout most of his adult life and found joy in reading, making people laugh, and, above all, spending time with his grandchildren.

Buck is survived by his children: Lisa Light of Hanford, CA; Robert “Buck” Light of St. James, MO; and Wendy Light Murray (Matt) of Jasper, IN. He was a proud grandfather to Kylie, Ryan, Josie, and Cooper Ewing.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Lena Light.

Buck will be remembered for his humor, his unwavering love for his family, and the active, joyful life he led. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
