Carol "Moppy" Evon Haines

Carol “Moppy” Evon Haines left this world on March 18, 2026, at home in Waynesville, Missouri. She was born in Massena, NY on August 19th, 1957, to Lester and Edith Roberts. She was preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Robert F. Haines.

Moppy loved Jesus, her family, and her friends. She was a member of Christ’s Mission Church in St Robert, Missouri and previously attended Northview Church of Christ in Statesville, North Carolina.

Carol was born in Massena, New York, but was raised in the Beaverdam Community in Canton, North Carolina. She loved to travel, and over her life she lived in a variety of places, with the most recent being in Waynesville, Missouri since 2022, and prior in Statesville, North Carolina.

Carol was a collector of people in her time on this earth. She was known by many as “Moppy” since her first biological grandchild was born. She enjoyed the fellowship of other brothers and sisters in Christ and loved to share about Jesus’ love. Moppy’s greatest achievements were her children and grandchildren. She didn’t let time or distance determine the close relationship she had with each one of her family members. Moppy had many chapters in her life that included many special people; many she would consider bonus children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Edith Roberts, her husband, Robert Haines, and her brother, James Roberts.

Those left to mourn her loss are her children, Miranda (Wade) Harrington, Corey Hall, and Anna (Cory) Sutphin; grandchildren Jacob (Mary) Holbrook, Elijah (Michelle) Holbrook, Rachael (Jake) Mahler, Ethan (Jordan) Hall, Calvin Hall (Annabelle Taylor), Esta Grace Sutphin (Christian Rodriguez), Carson Sutphin (Tressie Brown), Raymond Luke Sutphin; great-grandchildren Buckey, Savannah, Milo, Kinley, Olivia, Bodhi, and Paisley. In addition to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, her siblings, David (Elaine) Roberts, Cheryl Bryant, and Daron (Linda) Roberts are left to mourn her loss.
