Carolyn L. Murray

Carloyn L. Murray, age 81, of St. James, passed away August 5, 2023 at the St. James Living Center.

Carolyn was born October 16, 1941 in Jackson, Michigan a daughter to the late Curtis and Deloris (Barton) Bunker.

She was united in marriage to Wibert Butler for 16 years and to Joseph Murray for 39 years. Both preceded her in death.

Carolyn enjoyed traveling the United States until she settled in Dixon in 1992. She worked in health care for 7 years until her health prevented it. Carolyn was a homemaker until she passed away. Carolyn was a animal lover and when her dogs or cats were sick or injured she was known as “Ma Ma Bear” and she would care for them. She will be missed greatly by those that knew her. 

Carolyn is survived by: five children; fifteen grandchildren; forty two great-grandchildren; one dog, and two cats as well as many extended family members and friends.

In addition to her parents and two husbands Carolyn was preceded in death by two brothers.

In keeping with Carolyns wishes, her body was cremated and no service are planned.

Mom has been our mom for all our lives. Our children’s grandma all their lives. Our grandchildren’s great grandma all their lives. Our, those that have , great-great-grandma all their lives and their children their great-great-grandma all their lives. A step mother and mother-in-law to a few. A mother to our friends. A animal mom to many many animal’s. GOD has blessed us all with a wonderful mother. We all feel the impact of her passing. It is ok to be sad and to miss her. We always will. Lets hold each other while we miss her. Wipe our tears. Take in the memories. Good and bad. They made us who we are. strong and able to take on the world. Mom loves us all.
