Cecile Francis

Dorothy Cecile Francis died May 28, 2016 in Phelps County Medical Center of complications from a heart attack.  Cecile was born May 17, 1952.   She and her sister Anne were adopted by Cecil and Dorothy Francis when she was 4 years old, in Trenton, Michigan.  Cecile grew up there and graduated from high school in 1970.  When her parents decided to retire to Rolla, Cecile soon followed and made her home in Rolla until her death. Cecile belonged to the United Methodist Women Organization, and attended church at the First United Methodist Church.  She made many friends from those activities, as well as from her work as a receptionist and tax accountant.  She played the piano and was given the family piano by her mother when Dorothy moved to Florida after Cecil's passing in 2001.  Cecile loved animals and usually had a cat or two for companions.  She enjoyed making prayer shawls and other church activities with friends and loved ones.  Cecile was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jerry Francis.  She is survived by her sister Anne Warren and Anne's children in Florida, her aunt  Marcile Eddy of Indiana, cousin John Francis (and wife Lorie) of Rolla, as well as numerous other cousins in Indiana, Utah and Washington.  A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Rolla on Friday, June 10 at 2:00.  Please send any memorials to the First United Methodist Church in Cecile's name.
