Daniel Enos Elliott soared to the angels with our Heavenly Father on July 06, 2026. Dan fought an incredibly courageous battle following a tragic accident that left him a quadriplegic. He fought and fought with relentless strength proving his immense bravery every single day.
Dan is survived by his parents Frank and Mary Elaine Elliott of Paola, Kansas, his wife Lisa Elliott of Doolittle, Missouri, son Colby Elliott of Doolittle, Missouri, brother David (Sandra) Elliott of Hutchison, Kansas, nephews Ashley Elliott, Josua Elliott of Greer, South Carolina, bonus son Xavier Ralston of Independence, Missouri, and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as his beloved dogs Tessa and Romeo.
Dan was born in Garnett, Kansas growing up he was affectionately known as “Danny” or “Pumpkin”. Dan was surrounded by family that taught him baking, gardening, sewing, cooking, and fishing skills. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed school where he often maintained a 4.0 grade point average. He excelled at science, math, and technology. His hobbies included swimming, golf, football, traveling, planes, bike riding and darts. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and won the Lynn Dicky Sr Athlete Award with the highest-grade point average. Dan loved growing up in the 80’s, loved his Camero, and spending time traveling with friends and family. After high school Dan attended Pittsburg State and later Emporia State University. He worked at The Farm Inc. and Lake Mary with special needs kids. In1994 Dan bought his first computer; he was endlessly fascinated by computers and the inner workings of every aspect of the digital world. Beyond his natural curiosity he possessed a deeply generous heart. A strong advocate for his community. Dan dedicated time to providing computer related opportunities to single mothers, empowering them with new skills and computers.
Dan married Lisa the love of his life on April 12, 1996. They started a family in Emporia, Kansas where he worked at the Flint Hills Community Health Center and Lyon County Court House. Dan worked his up to working in Topeka, Kansas for the Kansas Medically Underserved where he got to eat at the Governor's Mansion. Later he moved to Hutchison, Kansas where he worked at Prairie Star Community Health Center as Chief Information Officer. IN 2021 Dan moved the family to Rolla, Missouri to work at Four Rivers Commnity Health Center as an IT Manager where he built a reputation not just for his expertise but for the deep camaraderie he shared with his colleagues. He was incredibly Prough of the work did, but he was prouder to have finally found such a cherished work family. His nickname was “Dan the Man”, if he couldn’t fix it no one could.
Dan will be remembered for his loving, giving, spirit, he could always tell a joke and never met a stranger. His favorite stories were about his dogs and his family. But most of all his pride and joy was his son Colby.
Daniel, our brother, may we look to the sky and know you are at peace. May the clouds dance and the stars guide you. Your fighting spirit will live in our hearts forever. R.I.P.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie, Kansas at a date to be named later.
