Darlene Edna Matlock

Darlene Edna Matlock, of St. James, Missouri passed away Friday August 11, 2023, in her home at the age of 74 years, 3 months, and 16 days.  She was born April 26, 1949, in St Louis Missouri to Louie and Edna Stender Barnett. She married Melvin Thomas Matlock II on November 1, 1971.  She had three sons: David Elston Barnett, Melvin Thomas Matlock III, and Joseph Raymond Matlock

Darlene was a faithful member of the Evangelistic Church, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and doing word searches.  Most of all she enjoyed time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Thomas Matlock II, parents Louie and Edna Stender Barnett; brothers, Ed Barnett, Wilburn Barnett, Delbert Barnett, and Jesse Barnett; sister Roxie Gray; half-sister, Judy Earls.

She is survived by sons: Dave (Kellie) Barnett, Melvin (Libby) Matlock III, Joseph Matlock, grandchildren; Timothy Barnett, David Barnett, Amanda Daly (Barnett), Tyler Matlock, Gabriel Matlock; siblings: Delman (Lynda) Barnett, Velda (Gene) Kossut of St. James, MO, Ronnie (Shawna) Barnett of WA, Geraldine Barnett (life partner of Kathy Wills) of Rolla, MO, sister-in-law Jakie Barnett and Pat Dressendofer of St. James, MO and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
