Donald Allen Doan, 82, passed away on January 03, 2024, at his home in Flat, Missouri. He was born on August 18, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Harold Robert and Marie Louise (Zikan) Doan.

Donald was raised in his early years in Chicago before moving to Bristol, Wisconsin during his teen years and graduating from Central High School in Bristol in 1959.  On April 29, 2006, he married Penny Louise Doan in Flat where they would reside together until his death. 

For 20 years Donald served in the US military in various capacities.  He was honorably discharged from the Air Force on January 31, 1981.  Following his discharge, he continued to serve his country and his fellow veterans by doing maintenance at the St. James Veterans Home for 18 ½ years. 

Donald’s passion was classic cars.  He was an active member of the Cave State Cruisers for 34 years, serving as president for 12 years.  He drove a 1964 Impala Super Sport along with several other classic cars.  In addition to his classic cars Donald enjoyed riding motorcycles.  He was also a member of the Fist ND Baptist Church of Flat.  But, most of all he cherished his time with his friends and family. 

Those left to mourn him are his wife Penny; children Tammy Doan of Neosho, MO, Scott  Doan of Greenwood, Florida, Debbie Wands of Rolla, Brandi (Jaime) Ortega of Hollister, MO, DJ (Bekah) Falkenrath of Conway, MO, Clayton (Ashley) Falkenrath of Phillipsburg, MO, Annlea Falkenrath of Flat, Ethan (Miranda) Falkenrath of Doolittle, MO; grandchildren Michael, Nicholas, Tyler, Carter, Kobe, Blythe, Madison, Nathaniel, Sofia, Felix, and Brantley; great-grandchildren Emory, Myles, Greyson, and Bo; nieces and nephews Brenda Greeson of Eldridge, MO, Paul “Sport” Dee of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, and Fred Dee of Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Karen Dee of Pea Ridge, AR, and his lifelong friend Larry Ceranek of Waynesville, MO

Services will be January 12, 2024,at 10:00am at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Ft. Leonard Wood in Waynesville.
