Donna Lou Williams

 

Donna Lou Williams (Hills), 77, of St. James passed away on November 30, 2023, at Silverstone in Rolla.  She was born June 20, 1946, to Herman and Lois (Marget) Hills in Elgin, Illinois.  Donna graduated from Rolla High School in 1964 and from Rolla Cosmetology School in 1965.

Donna would marry the love of her life Otis Williams on March 5th, 1966 in Rolla. She was baptized into the Presbyterian Church at a young age.

 

Donna was a dairy farmer for 34 years in St. James. She remained a beautician throughout the years. After retiring from the dairy farm, she continued her love of farm animals, especially Holstein cows. She enjoyed traveling and camping with Otis at bluegrass festivals where she met many new friends, taking many trips out of state with her favorites being two trips to Alaska and Mackinac Island in Michigan.

 

Donna continued her passion for shopping as she did for many years with her daughter Sharon. Her favorite pastime with daughter Vicki was taking her to county fairs to show her Holstein and Brown Swiss heifers that were raised from the family farm. Donna also enjoyed many years of attending county fairs to help her grandchildren show cattle.

 

In addition to her parents she is predeceased by a daughter Sharon Willliams Lorts, and her parent in laws Arthur and Lucy Williams.

 

Survivors include her husband of 57 years Otis Williams of the home, daughter Vicki Bouse of Cuba, three grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a very dear friend of many years Opal Williams and  her husband Terry, as well as two brothers, two brothers in law, 6 sisters in law, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and many, many friends.

 

Per Donna’s wishes there will be a private memorial service held at the family plot at the Miles Cemetery in St. James

The family suggests memorial donations to Shriners Hospitals for Children of St. Louis in the name of Donna Williams Memorial.
