Edward "Ed" A Rigsby

Edward "Ed" A. Rigsby, of Rolla, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023, at the age of 82. He was born in Dixon, MO on July 9, 1940, to the late Clifford Rigsby and Thelma (Cottrell) Thompson. Along with his parents Ed was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Cain.

He will be greatly missed by his daughter, Paula (Ted) Haas of Rolla; son, Jeff (Julie Maddox Sanders) Rigsby of Rolla; and daughter, Leslie Rigsby of Saint Louis, MO. He is also survived by grandson, Justin (Jodie) Haas and grandaughter, Ryann Rigsby; as well as great-grandchildren Colton Haas and Jordan Haas. He leaves three brothers; Leroy Rigsby of Fenton, MO, Paul Rigsby and Michael Slone of Rolla and two sisters, Margie Kelley of Atlanta, GA and Brenda Nash of Rolla as well as many other relatives and friends.

Ed was known for having a strong work ethic all his life. He began a neighborhood paper route at a young age and eventually started a career in the service station industry. Ed's entire career revolved around working with cars. He owned and operated Ed's Fina in Rolla, where it is said, he had the best hand detailed car wash. After closing Ed's Fina, he moved to Jefferson City, MO where he began working for and eventually retired from McKnight Tire.

Ed's hobbies were going to car shows, hunting, fishing and beach vacations. During his lifetime he provided many quiet acts of service for family, friends and sometimes complete strangers. Along with being kindhearted, he was a mentor to many, formed lifelong friendships and never met a stranger.

Private services will be held later.

Cremation arrangements under direction of Rolla Cremation and Memorial.
