Evelyn Josephine Bailey Carlton
Evelyn went to be with her Lord on Sept 10 th at 11:25 at Phelps Health Hospital. She is
preceded in death by her husband Larry Wayne Carlton, Her parents Rev Joseph D Sr and
Velma L Bailey, Sister and Brother-in-law Ruth and Bill Skaggs, inlaws Elmo and Lilly Carlton. Brother in law Kenneth.
Grandparents on both sides of the families. Numerous Aunts, Uncles and other family
members.
She is survived by her Brothers Joseph D Jr, Larry L , Kurt Sr. Sisters Betty, Gayle R. Kathy G.
Nieces Amy, Ashley, Bekka, Cassidy, Clarissa. Nephews Billy, Robert, Jason, Justin, Phillip,
Josh, Brandon, Kurt Jr. Numerous Great nieces and nephews as well as several great great
nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was born April 18 th 1952 at Viburnum Hospital. She worked at Rolla Nursing home
For several years where she met and married Larry Carlton. They lived in Edgar Springs
where over the years she took care of her siblings, nieces and nephews. She was also
caretaker of her mother-in-law. She took care of her husband while he had cancer along
with many other health issues. She spent many hours hanging with Uncle Roy.
She loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers which they sold around town. They
also sold fruits and vegetables at the Farmers Market for years.
She and Larry attended Outreach Ministries of Edgar Springs. She was the sectary of the
church. She and Larry would sing in the church. They had no children of her own however
she took care of many children of friends and family.
She moved to Rolla about 6 years ago. Because Betty brought many friends home with her
for vacation where she also ended up adopted a sister Jenny F and nephews Christopher
and Donavan. Niece Jai and great nephew Azariah. In 2017 she received her very best
friend Samantha. We saw a change in her. She finally decided to let Samantha sleep with
her at night and after that they were inseparable.
She has now gone to be with her loved ones and her Lord and is no longer in pain and is
singing with the angels
