Harry Ray Wallen, age 73 of Rolla, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at his residence.


Harry was born February 16, 1948, in Ironton, a son to the late John “Smitty” Wallen and Leona Marie (Dotson) Wallen.


Harry graduated in 1966, from Valley of Caledonia High School. He later attended Mineral Area College in Park Hills and graduated from there in 1989.


Harry proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict, receiving the Purple Heart.


Harry worked for Pilot Knob Mines from 1969 until 1979 and then took a job at Ameren as a journeyman electrician, and then a maintenance supervisor working there until his retirement in 2003.


Harry was a member of the New Life Worship Center in St. James.


Harry enjoyed playing music, watching animal videos, and spending time with family and friends. Some of his hobbies included, tinkering with projects, crossword puzzles and trading Toyota trucks.


Harry is survived by the mother of his children, June Helvey of Rolla; one daughter, Melissa “Missy” (Wallen) Massey and her husband Duane of Farmington; one son, Nathan Wallen of Rolla; a brother, Jean-Claude Simon of Nancy, France; five grandchildren, Josh (Kayla) Massey, Caleb Massey, Heather (David) Combs, Shelby Wallen and Tyler Wallen; six great grandchildren, Ryan, Ryder, Ryatt, Stella, Hattie and Norah as well as several nieces, nephews other family and friends.


In addition to his parents and grandparents, Harry was preceded in death by, one sister, Alice “Tena” Pogue; two daughters, Lisa Ann Wallen and Heather Renee Wallen and a great grandson, Levi Joseph Massey.


In keeping with Harry's wishes there will be no services. Harry will be interred at the Caledonia Methodist Cemetery in a private family gathering.


Expression of sympathy may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
