Jack Wesley Lawson, age 63 passed from this life on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 in Rolla, Missouri.

 

Jack was born on October 23, 1959 in Sacramento, California, a son to the late Edna Irene Billingsly.

 

As a child, Jack grew up as a country boy in Elk Grove, California, raised on a farm by his grandmother, Allie Bell Peterson along with his siblings and cousins.

 

Jack was a free spirit in nature; he loved being outdoors. His passions were watching sports, food and spending time with his family. He had a special place in his heart for his fellow unsheltered friends.

 

He never met a stranger, he was known for his big personality. He loved to tell stories, give advice and harp about his children and grandchildren. His laughter would fill a room.

 

He was married to Donna Patten for 13 years and out of that marriage, they had five children together. They later divorced.

 

In addition to his grandmother, mother, sisters Patsy and Carolyn and brother Stanely, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracy Ann Lawson.

 

He will be deeply missed by his sisters, Erline and Valerie and his brothers, James and Brian. He is also survived by his children, Janice Duff (Danny Stamper) of Blue Springs, MO, Jessica Lawson (Bruce Gruver) of Springfield, MO, Samantha Salinas (Mark Salinas) of Nixa, MO and Jack Lawson, Jr. of Buffalo, MO. His nine grandchildren, Zelda, Cloe, Gage, Leia, Xena, Alexander, Isabella, Brennan and Zara.

 

A celebration of Jack’s life will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023 at St. John’s Chapel UCC, Springfield, Missouri.
