Jerry Louis McCabe

Jerry Louis McCabe Jr., 55, of Salem, Missouri, passed away on June 22, 2026.

Jerry was born on June 12, 1971, to Jerry McCabe Sr. and Deborah Galati. He spent much of his childhood in Valley Park, Missouri, surrounded by family and friends who would come to know his humor, energy, and unmistakable spirit.

Throughout his life, Jerry wore many hats and took pride in the work he did. Over the years, he worked as a high-altitude tower repairman, owned and operated his own remodeling business, and served as a communications and data information engineer for major corporations. In his later years, he devoted more of his time to one of his greatest passions—working on small engines, especially all-terrain vehicles.

Jerry will be remembered most for the laughter and joy he brought everywhere he went. He was a longtime member of the Viburnum Eagles Club and was well known for his competitive nature. Whether he was playing pool, sitting down for a card game with friends, or enjoying a night out watching NASCAR, Jerry loved being surrounded by the people he cared about. On sunny days, he could often be found off-roading or enjoying a cold beer by the river. In the evenings, he was happiest on the porch barbequing and admiring the sunset overlooking his dear friend Larry’s property.

Jerry had a deep love for nature and a special compassion for animals, especially his beloved dog, Zeus. He lived life with a free spirit, a strong sense of humor, and a love for simple moments spent with family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Deborah Galati; his grandmother, Shelba Welker; his grandfather, Joe McCabe; his grandmother, Elsie McCabe; and his grandson, Carson.

He is survived by his children, Zachary McCabe (Ashley), Kalee Beardsley, Alyssa Eikel (Austin), and Joshua McCabe (Brendi); his eleven cherished grandchildren, Logan, Teagan, Sawyer, Noah, Blakely, Sutton, Conrad, Beckett, Julian, Easton, and Brody; his father, Jerry McCabe Sr.; his brothers, Jason McCabe (Michelle) and Shaun McCabe; his aunt, Becky (Michael); his best friend, David Asbridge; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Jerry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. His family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time.
