Joe Carmel Stites

 Joe Carmel Stites, age 67 of Rolla, Mo passed away December 21, 2017 surrounded by his family. Joe was born on September 30, 1950 in St. Cloud, MN., a son to the late Carmel and Dorothy (Yeager) Stites. Joe was a graduate of Rolla High School, where his aggressive play earned him  a full ride basketball scholarship to East Central College in Union, Mo. He was of Christian faith. Joe was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers fan.  He enjoyed fishing, anything to do with the outdoors, but most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family. Joe is survived by one son: Jason Stites and his wife Tina of Rolla; one granddaughter; Mercedes Stites of Rolla, one brother; John Stites and his wife Beverly of Rolla, and one sister, Patricia Konkle of Kansas City, MO. In addition to his parents, Joe is preceded in death by a sister Carmen (Stites) Boeker Tuttle. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
