Juanita Helen Hines

Juanita Hogan Hines was born September 14th, 1922 to Thomas and Martha Hogan in Blooming Rose, Mo.   She was our family’s “Blooming Rose”.  She was the youngest of 9 children.  She had 2 sisters and 7 brothers that all preceded her in death.  She was 99 years young, at her passing, and was very much looking forward to celebrating the big “100”.

Juanita had been living with her oldest daughter in Columbia, Mo. for the past 3 years, after living on her own until she was 96+.  She left us peacefully June 23, 2022 at 5:19 pm at the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Mo.  She was surrounded by family.

She married Wayne Hines in Rolla, Mo. on October 12, 1940. They had one son - Jerry Hines, four daughters - Beverly Braun, Judy McWilliams, Debbie Carter and Theresa Hines. She was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother to 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters - Beverly Braun-Hallsville, Mo, Judy McWilliams-Rolla, Mo, Debbie Carter-Upland, California and Theresa Hines-Denton, Texas, her grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and son-in-law, Dale.

She is preceded in death by husband-Wayne Hines, Son-Jerry Hines, Grandson-Scott Lewis and Sons-In-Law-Curt Braun and Steve Carter.  Her sons-in-law loved her dearly.

She worked for Rawlings Sporting Goods in Newburg and Licking, Mo from 1956-1984.  She taught many employees how to use the machines at the factories. She was a great teacher of sewing.  She loved to bowl, was an avid seamstress, loved crafts, reading her favorite author Danielle Steele, card games, and travelling.  She retired in 1984 and loved to visit her daughters.  She had the best sense of humor. She loved to get her nails done and keeping up with friends on Facebook.  Her favorite thing was living at the Rolla Apartments and having her apartment decorated and sharing it with anyone that would stop in to visit. She was the St. Louis Cardinals’ team #1 Fan. We had hopes they would invite her to throw out a ball at her 100th.

There will be a mass at St. Patrick’s Church-17 St. Patricks Lane in Rolla, Mo. 9/17/22 at 11 am followed immediately by a celebration of life at St. Patrick’s Hall across from the Church – 1601 N. Bishop.
