Judith E Cheatham

Judith E. Cheatham, age 87 of Salem, Missouri, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at Phelps Health Hospital.

Judith, or commonly known as Judy was born Tuesday, June 13, 1939, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter to the late Matthew & Pearl (Grassman) Hornung.

On November 8, 1958 She was united in marriage to William Doyle Cheatham, Sr. in Chicago. She worked at different factory assembly jobs.

In late 1978 they moved to Vergas, Minnesota where they ran a small hobby farm. Also she worked housekeeping for St Mary's Hospital, Holiday Inn, Dunvilla Resort. In 1998 they moved to Salem. Missouri. She worked at the Salem hospital until she retired.

She loved her gardens, canning veggies. and her animals. Not to mention playing with her grandchildren.

Judy is survived by: her husband Doyle of Salem. her two sons, William D. (Esther) Cheatham. Jr of Lake Park, Minnesota and Larry Lee (Janet) Cheatham of Rolla, Missouri, her sister Elsie "Bunny" (Richard) Krammer of Niles, Illinois, her brother Raymond (Helen) Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, 4 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Judy was proceeded in death by a sister Suzzanne Jones of Vergas, Minnesota, and 9 nephews.

A celebration of life will be held in Rolla, Missouri at a later time.

And celebration of life and burial will be held at a later date in Minnesota.
