Katheryn Radine (Farquer) Cox passed away Jan. 15, 2026 at Jefferson City Manor in Jefferson City, MO. She was surrounded by family and friends as she peacefully slipped into her eternal rest.
She is survived by her husband, John, of the home. Her daughter, Tammy (Jerry) Downs of Jefferson City and son, J.C. of St. Robert MO. She has five grandchildren and 10 great grands And one sister, Marilyn Burleson of Nixa MO
Kathy was born on May 21, 1943 in St. Louis MO to Mary Esther (Stafford) Farquer and Raymond Henry Farquer. She was married to John W. Cox III on Dec. 20, 1963 and they enjoyed 62 years together. She grew up in Waynesville MO and attended Deerlick Baptist church for much of her life and was the praise and worship leader and principal for Vacation Bible School each summer. And later in life she attended Maranatha Baptist Church in St. Robert MO.
Kathy worked for Head Start for 15 years and she loved her job and the kids who walked through the doors each and every year. She also worked for Gateway Home Furniture in St. Robert.
Kathy was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2004 and we watched her slowly go downhill. She was placed in nursing home care in 2022.
Kathy will be remembered for her beautiful alto voice, her quick wit, and always looking completely put together. She will be remembered fondly by her grandchildren for the unwavering love she had for them.
There will be no service but she will be interred at the Deerlick Baptist Cemetery in Waynesville MO.
