Kenneth Alan Sparks Sr

Kenneth Alan Sparks Sr, of Rolla MO, passed on August 10, 2022, at Phelps Health at the age of 67.

He was born December 1, 1954, in Belleview, IL, son of Kenneth Wayne and Erma Jean Sparks.


Ken served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the U.S. Army boxing team.

Ken enjoyed rodeos, combat sports, poker, storytelling, softball, and quality time with his family. He cherished his grandchildren and held the family title as best nanny. He was a self-proclaimed poker champion.

He is survived by his son Kenneth A Sparks Jr and wife Terri of Rolla, MO, his daughter Stephanie Sparks and significant other Khalid Mundwiller of Rolla, MO; four grandchildren Caitlin Delaney and husband Josh of Jefferson City, MO, Brandan Sparks and wife Kylie of Rolla, MO, Shawn Slightom of Rolla, MO, and Zoe Sparks of Rolla, MO. As well as a nephew Michael Sparks and great niece Rory Sparks of Rolla, MO; five great grandchildren Zephan, Daxton, and Maevyn Delaney of Jefferson City, MO, Savannah and Jimmy Slightom of Rolla, MO; two brothers Jimmy and Eric Sparks of Rolla, MO; and two sisters Kim Ruiz and Becky Cross of Rolla, MO.


In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a daughter, Shannon Sparks of Rolla, MO.

A visitation will be conducted at Greentree Christian Church in Rolla on August 25th from 5:00-6:30 pm with a celebration of life service to follow from 6:30-7:00 pm.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Greentree Christian Church.
