Kevin L. Fuhring, 59, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2023, in his home. He was born on July 14, 1964, in Rolla to Charles Lewis and Vesta Mae (Brown) Fuhring.
Kevin graduated from St. James High School, class of 1982. Throughout his life, Kevin was a remarkable athlete. He went on to play baseball at East Central College and Missouri State University. After college, Kevin did many things including working in a funeral home and becoming a landscaper. Perhaps his most notable career was when he became a professional racecar driver. Kevin later joined the carpenter and plumbers’ union. He had a knack for organization, and he continued to fix and build beautiful things for the remainder of his life.
Kevin enjoyed anything and everything related to sports, especially watching his kids play. He was a lifelong Dale Earnhardt fan and huge collector of Budweiser and Anheuser-Busch. In addition to attending to his yardwork and going thrift shopping, Kevin loved to spend time with his loved ones, his dogs, and barbecuing by the bonfire.
Kevin was predeceased by his mother Vesta Fuhring and his brother Charles Michael Fuhring.
He is survived by his father Charles Lewis Fuhring of St. James; daughter Devin Lindsay Fuhring of St. Charles; son Ivan Lewis Fuhring of St. James, sister Valda Mahaney of St. James; former wife Aubrey Bell and her son Austin Bell of St. James; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Kevin is so loved and will be missed every day.
Family and friends will be notified in the coming months for details regarding a service of remembrance.
