Melissa Claire Ousley

Melissa Claire Ousley, 57, of Rolla, Missouri, passed away on October 30, 2026, at MU Hospital. Born on January 22, 1969, in St. Louis, Missouri, Melissa was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was centered around family, friendship, and the little things that made life special.

Family meant everything to Melissa. She especially treasured the time she spent with her children and grandchildren, finding her greatest happiness in being surrounded by those closest to her. She also shared a special friendship with Tara Gabel, whose companionship brought many cherished memories throughout the years.

Melissa had a personality and spirit that made her uniquely herself. She enjoyed collecting little things, finding happiness in the small treasures that caught her eye. Whether it was something that made her smile or a simple moment spent with someone she cared about, she knew how to find joy in the everyday things. She also had a special place in her heart for her two beloved dogs, Hank and Miles, who were faithful companions and an important part of her life.

Though life brought its share of challenges, Melissa’s story was one of family connections, friendships, and memories that will continue to be treasured by those who knew her. The moments spent together, the conversations, the laughter, and even the simplest everyday experiences are now memories her loved ones will hold close.

Melissa is survived by her brother, Jake Staley of St. Louis, Missouri; her lifelong companion, Randy Ferrell of Rolla, Missouri; her son, Justin, and daughter-in-law, Jill, and their two children, William and John, of Montana; her daughter, Alexa, and son-in-law, Benji Fitzsimmons, and their five children, Ellie, Trenton, Luke, Eryn, and Elsye, of Rolla; her son, Jordan, and daughter-in-law, Camaron, and their four children, Delaynee, Kylynn, Juliann, and Huxlee, of Waynesville, Missouri; her daughter, Brandy Ferrell, and her two children, River and Oliver, of Rolla; and her stepson, Cory Ferrell, of Vermont. She also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.

Melissa was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Staley and Sharon (Linda) Granger, and her son, Matthew Robidoux.

Although Melissa’s passing leaves an empty space in the lives of those who knew her, her memory will live on through the family she raised, the grandchildren she adored, the friendships she built, and the many little pieces of life that made her who she was. The things she collected may have been small, but the memories she leaves behind are immeasurable.

A memorial service will be held on 1/22/27 location and time will be posted closer to date.

May those who loved Melissa find comfort in the memories they shared with her and take peace in knowing that the moments they experienced together will always remain a part of their lives.
