Timothy “Tim” Saultz, 64 of St. James passed away at his home, surrounded by family and friends, September 2, 2023. He was born August 29, 1959, in Kansas City, the son of Chester E. Saultz and Calla A. (Miller) Saultz.
Tim graduated from Belton High School, Class of 1977. Following graduation, he attended what is now Missouri University of Science & Technology, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Geology and Geophysics. Tim initially retired, December 31, 2021, with over 33 years of service with the Department of the Interior, United States Geological Survey. He worked as a cartographer, in the field with survey teams, and many years with the Commercial Partnerships Team. In early 2022, Tim joined NV5 Geospatial as a Senior Program Manager. He was presented the United States Department of Interior Distinguished Service award in 2022.
Tim enjoyed canoeing, fishing, Chief’s football, brewing beer & mead, and sharing a pint with family & friends. He married Chanda Ayars and they settled, on their Piney Woods, in St. James. They celebrated 23 years of marriage, in July. Tim loved any time he could be outdoors. He volunteered as a member of the Missouri Master Naturalist Program – Meramec Hills Chapter.
Survived by his wife, Chanda (Ayars) Saultz, his sons, Zakary Saultz, of Rolla; Samuel Saultz, of Cuba; daughters, Noni Roberts, of Indiana; Emily Saultz, of St. James; granddaughter, Marri Ann Saultz, of St. James; and mother of his eldest step-daughter (Noni), and eldest son (Zak), Rachel DuPuy, of Indiana; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Tim is predeceased by his parents; a born silent son, Thomas Saultz; and brother, Richard Saultz.
At Tim’s request, there will be no funeral or memorial service.
