Walter Wayne Wethy

Walter Wayne Wethy, 68, passed away on Sunday September 20, 2026, at Aurora Health and Rehab. He was born on December 26, 1957, to Walter H. Wethy and Avis Annetta Barton. He was a 1977 graduate of Salem High School.

Walter worked at Royal Oak Charcoal as a foreman for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, league bowling, and playing with his grandkids.

He is survived by his ex-wife Doris (Creech) Wethy; daughter Elisha Wethy of Springfield, son Jason Wethy of Rolla; three granddaughters Lexis Noll and her daughter Macie of Rolla, Khloe Noll of Crocker, Rubie Rude of Thayer; a great granddaughter Macie of Rolla; three brothers Virgil (Sharon) of Portage, Michigan, Donald Wethy of Rolla, and Travis; one sister Rose (Ted) Farmer of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, a stepfather Evertt Beers, grandparents Harold and Mary Wethy, grandparents Virgil and Goldia Barton, as well as several aunts and uncles.

There will be a memorial service on Friday September 25, 2026 at 6:00pm at the Macedonia Baptist Church
