Joe Ray Perkins, 73, of Rolla, MO passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 13, 2020 at his home.  He was born October 14, 1946 in Dixon, MO, a son of Barney and Etta Mae (Davis) Perkins.

Joe graduated from Rolla High School, Class of 1965.  Following graduation, he served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1968.  He spent two years in a VA hospital recovering from war injuries.  Joe received the Purple Heart for his injuries during service.

Joe ran the infamous Stan’s Corner Pocket in downtown Rolla for 25 years where many people enjoyed playing pool, especially 9 ball and golf.  Joe was a true fan of the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.  He loved seeing the Cubs win the World Series in 2016, finally breaking the curse!

Joe is survived by his sons: Anthony and wife Dawn of Jefferson City and Barry and wife Danna of Rolla; four grandchildren: Jazmine, Trevor, Drake, and Aleya; one sister Becky Larson and husband Jim of Rolla; one brother William and wife of Alaska; as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends.  Joe was proceeded in death by his parents Barney and Etta Mae.

Cremation Services were under the direction of Rolla Cremation and Memorial.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on February 21, 2020 at Missouri Veterans Cemetery Fort Leonard Wood, 25350 State Hwy H, Waynesville, MO.
