Karen Sue Wood, age 68 of Rolla, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, after a very courageous fight with cancer.

Karen was born April 20, 1952, in Portsmouth, VA, a daughter to the late Bobby Gene and Elizabeth Ann (Rebyak) Wood.

Karen grew up in Gibbstown, NJ, and then attended Paulsboro High School. She obtained her Bachelors Degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Ill.

A free spirit, she lived in many states before moving to Missouri to be closer to her large extended family. She retired from State Farm Insurance Company.

Karen enjoyed her two sons, Robert Hagelstein and Daniel Foster and her grandchildren. She loved to camp, visit the Jersey shore, bake, woodworking, crafting and traveling with her significant other Wayne Rath. She loved life . She loved her family.  She was known for making the best chocolate chip cookies but most of all she was full of life, love and laughter.

Karen is survived by her two sons, Robert Hagelstein of Chicago, Il, and Daniel Foster of Punta Gorda, FL, her sisters, Judy (John) Lloyd of Wellington, KS, Liz (Tim) Rehmer of Sedalia, Tanya (Jeff) Taylor of New London and two brothers, Tom (Cyndi) Wood of New London and Paul (Sherry) Wood of Hannibal. Her grandchildren, Jon, Lauren, Connor, Mason, Jaden, Landon and Addyson as well as numerous nieces and nephews nd her significant other, Wayne Rath of Rolla..

In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Wayne Wood.
