Myra Patricia Cobb, 73, passed away Thursday January 21, 2021 in the home she shared with her husband, Jim, in Rolla, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, mother-in-law, father-in-law and grandparents. She is survived by her husband Jim Cobb, Sister Teresa Skidmore, sons James (Sherri) Cobb, Jason (Cherie) Cobb, grandchildren Kristopher Cobb, Catlyn Cobb and Brianna Cobb.
Myra was born November 1, 1947 to Arvin and Laurene Skidmore in Piggott, Arkansas. She grew up in Piggott with her sister Teresa Skidmore. She graduated from Piggott High School in 1965, attended Arkansas State in Jonesboro, Williams College in Walnut Ridge and Jonesboro Business College. She married Jim Cobb on July 26, 1969 in Piggott. They moved to St. Louis right after they married and moved to Rolla, Missouri in December 1972 where they spent the remainder of their marriage. They welcomed their sons James Edwin Cobb in 1972 and Jason Daniel Cobb in 1975. She worked in marketing but her priority was always her family. She treasured her time celebrating her family and raising their boys. She was always providing smiles and laughter to the group. She loved to travel, celebrate birthdays and holidays, baking delicious desserts and putting together beautiful decorative arrangements. She was a proud member of the Beta Sigma Phi. She loved playing golf. She was a skilled golfer and spent many wonderful days enjoying a game or watching others tee off at the eighth tee box.
She was a loved wife, sister, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. She will be missed deeply by all who were blessed to know her.
Memorial services are planned for February 6, 2021 at James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla. Visitation will be from 2-3 pm with service to follow. An opportunity to share memories of Myra’s life will be available. Memorials can be made in honor of Myra to Russell House in Rolla.
